David Goodwin, Jr -  Goodwin Homes, LLC

David Goodwin, Jr. is a third generation developer and home builder in the Memphis

metropolitan area. He began his homebuilding career in 1972 when he went to work

for his Father, T. David Goodwin. David, Jr. worked as a foreman and construction

superintendent in the 1970’s and eventually developed his own homebuilding business

in 1980 and built homes in the Bartlett area and several daycare centers for National

Childcare. David’s focus in 1984 became commercial retail leasing and development

where he oversaw the development and leasing of over 1,000,000 square feet of retail

centers.

David’s primary focus from the 1990’s to the present has been on residential and

commercial development. David has developed over 2,000 residential lots in

Shelby, Fayette, and Desoto Counties. He has developed commercial property in the

metropolitan area including the Wal-Mart development in Oakland, Tennessee, Arlington

Crossing Shopping Center, Flag City Shopping Center in Millington, Tennessee and

numerous restaurant and retail buildings throughout the Memphis area. In addition to his

residential and commercial development, David has continued his homebuilding career in

the Arlington, Oakland, and Desoto County communities.

David has served the past four years on the Board of Directors of Memphis Area Home

Builders Association.
